Avonsleigh Berries is a family-run blueberry and sour cherry farm in Avonsleigh in the Dandenong Ranges, established in 1980 by the Edlinger family and now run by Harald and Martine Edlinger. The farm grows its fruit without pesticides and offers pick your own blueberries and sour cherries direct from the bushes and trees. You can also pick blueberries here.

Silvan
Cherries: late November to early January, from $18 entry
Blue Hills Berries and Cherries is a Chapman family farm at Silvan in the Dandenong Ranges, about an hour east of Melbourne. The Chapmans have grown fruit on the property since 1894 and the farm is now run by Kevin and Tracey Chapman. You can also pick strawberries, blueberries and raspberries here.

Chappies, trading as Chapmans Berry and Fruit Farm, is a fourth-generation Chapman family farm at 21 Parker Road, Silvan, in the Dandenong Ranges foothills of the Yarra Valley, about an hour from Melbourne. You can also pick raspberries and blackberries here.

Silvan
Cherries: Nov to Jan
Silvan Cherry and Berry Farm is a u-pick only orchard at 55A Edmund Road, Silvan, in the Dandenong Ranges, growing fruit since 1988. The farm grows around 20 different cherry varieties, each ripening with its own size, colour and flavour, and is open most weekends from November to January for cherry picking. You can also pick raspberries here.

Wandin East
Cherries: mid November to early January, $15/kg picked
Cherry Haven is a family-owned u-pick cherry orchard at 470 Queens Road, Wandin East, at the end of a private lane in the Dandenong Ranges foothills overlooking the Yarra Valley. The orchard grows more than 30 different cherry varieties and welcomes walk-in visitors with no booking required.

In the last confirmed season, Blue Hills Berries and Cherries charged from $18 entry. Chappies U-Pick Cherries and Berries charged around $10 per kg picked. Cherry Haven charged $15 per kg picked. Prices change during the season, so check with the farm before you travel.
