About Windy Acres Farm
Windy Acres Farm is a 23-acre lavender and bee farm at Westbrook, about ten minutes from the Toowoomba CBD, run by the Vohland family. The farm grows around 8,000 lavender plants across four varieties, one bred for eating and the others grown for their oil or their flowers, alongside an apiary.
The farm follows a seasonal calendar: the onsite shop and coffee van operate during the flowering season from October through to April, on Wednesdays and Sundays, with the farm closed over winter. Pick-your-own lavender sessions, where visitors cut their own bunches to take home, run over December and January. The farm also hosts occasional seasonal events, including an In Bloom Picnic and Market Day in December and an Easter Saturday egg hunt.
Outside the flowering season the farm still trades through an online shop with local delivery. Because opening days follow the season rather than a fixed year round calendar, and the property was reported closed for winter with a planned reopening around 20 September, visitors should check the farm's website or Facebook page for current hours before travelling.
