About Melbourne Christmas Tree Farm
Melbourne Christmas Tree Farm at Plumpton, in Melbourne's outer west, describes itself as the biggest Christmas tree farm in Melbourne, growing around 150,000 Pinus radiata trees on site.
Visitors are free to walk out into the field, choose their own tree, and cut it down themselves using a hand saw supplied by the farm, or simply have staff select and cut one for them. Chosen trees are bagged and tied ready to take home. No appointment is needed; visitors can turn up any time within opening hours.
The farm opens from 22 November to 23 December, 8am to 8pm daily, with shorter hours of 8am to 2pm on Christmas Eve. There is ample free parking on site, and dogs are welcome on a leash. The farm also runs winter wagon rides, has farm animals to see, and offers free tree trimmings after your tree is cut.
