About Lomas Orchards

Lomas Orchards is a heritage orchard at Wallington on the Bellarine Peninsula, farmed by the Lomas family since 1938 and now run by the fourth generation. The 50 acre property grows more than 32 varieties of heritage apples and pears alongside stone fruit, strawberries and vegetables. Pick your own strawberries run from November to May, charged per kilogram picked. Outside the strawberry season the farm also runs pruning and grafting workshops from May to August, along with school and kindergarten tours and apple tasting days. A farm shop on site sells the orchard's own apricots, plums, nectarines, peaches, apples, pears and quinces, and a small farm cafe serves locally roasted coffee, cold drinks and ice cream. The farm is cash only, so bring cash rather than relying on a card. Dogs and other pets are not permitted on the property for biosecurity reasons, an important rule on a working orchard. Opening days and current season information are posted on the farm's Facebook page, which is the best way to check what is ready to pick before making the trip out to Wallington Road.
