About The Orchard Perth

The Orchard Perth is a working citrus orchard at 1378 Chittering Road in Lower Chittering, about 45 minutes from Perth in the Chittering Valley. It was one of the first orchards planted in the district, open to the public since 1978, and now grows around 10,000 citrus trees across oranges, lemons, limes, mandarins and grapefruit.

Fruit picking is done as part of a guided tractor tour rather than a free-roam paddock. Tours run Thursday to Sunday at 10am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3pm, take about an hour, and include tasting fruit straight from the tree with a farmer guide, plus the chance to pick and buy up to 5kg of fruit per person. Picking is available most of the year, from around May to December, with the widest range through winter and spring. Bookings are recommended, with a maximum of 20 people per tour.

The property also has a packing shed cafe selling drinks, snacks, fresh produce and local jams and chutneys, a nature-inspired playground, picnic areas, and farm animals including sheep, goats, alpacas and ponies to feed.
