About Picnic Point Farm

Picnic Point Farm is a family run orchard on the banks of the Mitchell River at Bairnsdale in East Gippsland, best known for its apples but also growing cherries, raspberries, asparagus and rhubarb. The farm runs pick your own raspberry sessions periodically through the season, roughly November to January, with the exact dates announced on its Facebook page. Sessions are limited and often book out quickly, so contacting the farm ahead of a visit, by phone or by Facebook message, is the way to secure a spot. Pickers are given a tub to fill in the raspberry rows. Outside picking sessions, the farm sells its own apples, apple products, cherries, raspberries, asparagus and rhubarb direct to the public from the Farm Shed on Drevermann Street, and also has a stall at the Bairnsdale Farmers' Market. Because both the picking sessions and the farm shed hours can change with the season and the weather, it is worth checking the farm's website or Facebook page, or calling ahead, before making the trip out to Bairnsdale.
