About Nutwood Farm
Nutwood Farm is a chestnut and walnut orchard at Mount Irvine in the Blue Mountains, reached via Mount Wilson Road off Bells Line of Road. The property has around 220 trees, mostly chestnuts with some walnuts, on a 50 acre site.
The farm opens its gate for pick your own nuts on weekends across March and April each year, typically five to six weekends including Good Friday and Easter Monday. Visitors follow a mown pathway out to the orchard and are given buckets and bags to collect their own chestnuts and walnuts, sold at $11 per kilogram. There is even the option to roast chestnuts over a small fire on site before the drive home.
Entry is free and no booking is required. Opening hours during the season are 9am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Because opening weekends can shift with the harvest, the farm asks visitors to check its Facebook and Instagram pages for confirmed dates before travelling out. The farm is contactable by email; no phone number is published.
