About Bilpin Fruit Bowl
Bilpin Fruit Bowl is a large family farm at 2093 Bells Line of Road, Bilpin, and one of the biggest strawberry growers in the Hawkesbury, with close to 100,000 strawberry plants in temperature controlled hothouses that let it offer strawberry picking all year round on weekends. Seasonal orchard fruit is also available for picking through the year, including apples from January to around June, plus peaches, nectarines, cherries and pumpkins in their own windows. The farm publishes a weekly Facebook update on exactly what is ready to pick.
Pick your own runs weekends and public holidays, 10am to 4pm, with entry priced at $20 per adult and $10 per child aged 3 to 12 (under 3 free), which covers fruit eaten on the farm; anything taken home is charged separately. The farm's own site states bookings are essential and capped at 200 people per two hour session, so book ahead rather than turning up on spec. Cars stay in the car park, as they are not allowed onto the farm itself, and pets are not permitted. The attached farm shop, stocking local honey, jams and cider, is open daily from 8am to 5pm.
