Mount Gnomon Farm, Penguin

Season 2026/27 Mount Gnomon is primarily a farm stay and restaurant property (geodesic domes, a barn venue and paddock to plate dining). Flower and sunflower picking is offered as part of its ticketed annual Sunflower Festival, alongside live music, food, farm tours and kids activities, rather than as a standing daily pick-your-own field. A pick-your-own apple orchard is referenced only in general farm-stay marketing copy, with no dedicated public picking season or date confirmed, so it is not listed as a crop here.

About Mount Gnomon Farm

Mount Gnomon Farm is a farm stay and restaurant property at Penguin in Tasmania's North West, set against the Dial Range about ten minutes from the town. It is built around paddock to plate dining, with geodesic dome accommodation, a barn venue and a restaurant serving cider, pork and produce raised on the farm.

Once a year the farm holds a ticketed Sunflower Festival in its wild kitchen garden, where visitors can walk among the flowering sunflowers, pick their own blooms, and stay for live music, food and drink, and activities including face painting, piglet patting and pony rides. The 2026 festival ran on 8 March from 3pm to 8pm; the date is not fixed and has fallen anywhere from February to March in past years, so check the farm's website or Facebook page for the next one.

Outside festival days, Mount Gnomon does not appear to run a standing self-pick program: the rest of the farm's picking references, including an apple orchard, turn up only in general marketing copy for the farm stay, without a confirmed season.
