About Longford Berries
Longford Berries is a family owned pick your own berry farm at 119 Bulwer Street, Longford, in Tasmania's Northern Midlands. Run by Dennis and family since 2003, it was the first farm of its kind in the district. Berries are grown pesticide and fungicide free, and the picking rows are landscaped and easy to walk along. Depending on the weather, the season usually runs from mid November to mid April, with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, boysenberries and blackberries ripening at different points through summer and into autumn, alongside less common berries such as silvanberries, jostaberries, loganberries and currants as they come into season. There is no entry fee; visitors simply pay for what they pick. The farm is open Wednesdays and weekends, 9.30am to 4pm, with other times available by appointment. On site there is a cafe area for light refreshments and a children's play area, useful for families making a morning of it. Because picking depends on the weather and how the crop is ripening, it is worth calling ahead or checking Facebook before visiting, especially early or late in the season.
