About Jauma
Jauma is a certified organic, 40 acre permaculture farm at 677 Mawson Road, Lenswood, in the Adelaide Hills, growing vineyards alongside cherry, apple and pear orchards. It is better known as a natural wine producer with its own cellar door, but opens the organic cherry orchard for pick your own each summer for a short, deliberately brief run of dates, usually falling in late December into early January. There are 10 cherry varieties to explore across the orchard, and visitors can eat cherries as they go while hand picking fruit to take home. On arrival pickers are given a box to fill, and pay for entry and picked cherries at a tent in the orchard once finished. On open days, wood fired pizza and cellar door wine tastings run alongside the picking from midday to 5pm. Because opening weekends depend on how the crop is ripening that year, the farm asks visitors to check its website, Instagram or mailing list for the current season's announced dates rather than assuming it is open.
