About Ancara Estate
Ancara Estate is a pick your own cherry orchard run by Carolyn and Andrzej at 109B Coldstore Road, Lenswood, in the Adelaide Hills. The fully netted orchard grows 12 varieties of sweet cherries, including Stella, Merchant, Van, Lapin, Chelan, Kordia, Simone, Sunburst, Santina, Sweetheart, Rainier and Sir Tom, on a scenic property that includes a lake. The farm says its cherry season can begin anywhere from November through to January depending on the weather, so visitors should check the website's season updates before setting out. On site there is plenty of parking, picking buckets are provided, and both EFTPOS and toilet facilities are available. As with other small Lenswood cherry growers, opening days depend on how the crop is ripening, so following the farm's Facebook page or calling ahead is the most reliable way to confirm the orchard is open before a visit.
