About Hunter Valley Sunflowers

Hunter Valley Sunflowers is a family owned flower farm at Largs, just outside Maitland in the Hunter Valley, growing a sunflower field that opens to the public for pick your own during its bloom window each year. Visitors can cut their own sunflowers, walk through the field, take photos among the flowers and picnic in the paddock.

Entry is $7 a person with children under 12 free, and 20 percent of the entry fee is donated to the Cancer Council. Sunflowers themselves are $3 a stem, cut with your own secateurs or ones bought on site. The farm generally opens somewhere between January and May, with the field usually at its best for around ten to twelve days, historically in late March or early April, though exact opening days depend on the weather and are announced on social media closer to the time.

Toilets and parking are available on site, and dogs are welcome on a lead. Because the paddock grass can be long, visitors are advised to wear sturdy shoes and long pants, and no drones are permitted.
