About Hillwood Berries
Hillwood Berries is a family run pick your own berry farm in the Tamar Valley, about 20 minutes north of Launceston just off the East Tamar Highway. The pick your own paddocks have operated for around 30 years and grow strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, much of it under tunnels, which stretches picking from spring into autumn rather than a single short summer window. Visitors pick into containers and pay by weight; entry to the paddocks and the on site Farmgate Cafe is free. The cafe serves berry inspired sweets, light meals, coffee, craft beer and local wine, alongside gifts, Tasmanian produce and house made jams, syrups and vinegar. Picking availability depends on the season and weather, so it is worth checking the farm's Facebook page before travelling out. The pick your own site is at 105 Hillwood Road, Hillwood, separate from the family's working farm and packing shed a short distance away at 139 Hillwood Road, which operates by appointment only.
