About Truffle Hill
Truffle Hill is a black Perigord truffle farm on Seven Day Road at Manjimup, established in 1997 as the first truffiere in the district and now one of the largest black truffle producers in the world. Its winter season, typically June to August, centres on guided truffle hunts through the estate's oak plantation, where trained dogs locate ripe truffles and guests dig them out of the soil by hand. Two experiences run through the season: a Truffle Hunt and Tasting of around two hours, open to adults and children, and a longer Forage and Feast of three and a half to four hours for adults only, which pairs the hunt with a truffle-based meal and cool-climate wines from the region. Both require advance booking, and online bookings close two hours before departure. Enclosed footwear is required, with rubber booties provided, and the walk covers one to two kilometres of uneven farm terrain, so the tours are not wheelchair accessible. A tasting room and restaurant operate on site during the season, and fresh truffles are sold at the cellar door when available, though truffles found on a given tour cannot be guaranteed for sale that same day.
