About Fontanini Fruit and Nut Farm

Fontanini Fruit and Nut Farm is a fourth-generation family orchard on Seven Day Road at Jardee, near Manjimup, run by Kirsty Fontanini and David Hargreaves. The Fontanini family has farmed in the area since 1906, when brothers Archie and Jack Fontanini arrived from Garfagnana in Tuscany and took up neighbouring blocks on Seven Day Road. Across 320 acres over three properties the farm grows apples, avocados, macadamias, chestnuts, walnuts, pears, persimmons and feijoas. For a window each autumn, generally April into May, the farm opens its orchards so visitors can walk through and handpick apples, chestnuts and walnuts, with feijoas also a highlight of the same window. Fruit and nuts picked are paid for by weight. Outside this pick-your-own window the farm's produce is sent to local, national and international markets, and the farm also runs guided tours through the orchards. Because the picking window is short and tied to the season each year, visitors should confirm current dates and hours with the farm before travelling.
