About Sam's Christmas Trees
Sam's Christmas Trees is a cut your own Christmas tree farm on Egerton-Ballark Road at Bungal, near Mount Egerton and Ballan in Victoria, about an hour from Melbourne and Geelong and 30 minutes from Ballarat. The property has grown trees since 1981 and has been run by Sam and Laura, the son and daughter-in-law of the original owners, since 2008.
Trees are priced by height, from $45 for a 4.5ft tree up to $180 for a 10ft tree in the most recent price list. Visitors can cut their own tree with a handsaw provided on site, or have staff do it for them, and trees can be wrapped in netting on request. Tree stands are also sold on site, and there is a parking area for visitors.
The farm opens for a run of Friday to Sunday weekends each season, starting with a Grand Opening Weekend in late November and continuing into December.
