About Peninsula Providore Farm
Peninsula Providore is an estate grown extra virgin olive oil producer on the Fleurieu Peninsula, run by Mel Hollick and Brook Wyett across around 17,000 olive trees at their Currency Creek and Nangkita groves. Their Pick Your Own Olives Tour is based at the Nangkita Grove, 2250 Bull Creek Road, Tooperang, where visitors join a guided walk of about 2 kilometres through the grove to learn about the olive varieties grown and how the oil is made.
After the walk, the guide shows visitors where to harvest their own olives, and the experience includes a bucket, salt and pickling instructions to take the olives home, along with a regional produce platter for two, a wine flight from Precious Little Wines and a tasting of three Peninsula Providore extra virgin olive oils. The tour runs during the autumn olive harvest, roughly April to June, though the farm's shop and cellar door more generally open on the first full weekend of every month, Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 4pm. Bookings are recommended given the tour's guided, small group format.
