About Montrose Christmas Tree Farm
Montrose Christmas Tree Farm on Moore Avenue in Montrose, in the Dandenong Ranges, has been run by the same family for more than 30 years and is one of the larger choose and cut Christmas tree farms in the Melbourne area. Visitors ride a wagon out through the choose and cut fields, hopping off wherever a tree catches their eye, with trees ranging from around 3 feet up to 15 feet.
The farm opens for the season in late November and runs daily from 9am to 7pm through December, with online ordering also available for a tree cut fresh and delivered free within Melbourne, or at extra cost further out. On weekends, Santa is on hand in the Christmas Barn to meet children among the decorations, with a free gift for each child. Tree netting for the trip home costs $10. The farm has sold out before the end of season in past years, so visitors are encouraged to visit or order early rather than leaving it until close to Christmas.
