About Kien's Strawberry Farm

Kien's Strawberry Farm is a family run pick your own strawberry grower at Lot 11, 360 Badgerup Road, Gnangara, north of Perth, with more than 20 years growing strawberries on the property. The farm opens to visitors on weekends through the spring picking season, roughly September to October, when there is enough ripe fruit in the field, and it uses its Facebook page to let people know which weekends it is open.

A pick your own box costs $15, paid in cash at the stall by the shed, and the farm also sells ready picked boxes for people who would rather not pick themselves. The strawberry rows have dark, sandy soil and no shade, so closed shoes and sunscreen are worth bringing, and a baby carrier is more practical than a pram. Parking is on the roadside outside the farm. Like the other Gnangara and Wanneroo growers nearby, exact opening hours vary from weekend to weekend depending on the weather and how the plants are cropping, so checking the farm's Facebook page shortly before a visit is worthwhile.
