About Hillside Harvest

Hillside Harvest is a fourth-generation family orchard at 1209 The Escort Way, Borenore, about 10 kilometres from Orange, growing fruit on the property for more than 75 years. Pick-your-own runs from mid November through to late May, covering cherries early in the window, then apricots, peaches, nectarines, plums, blackberries and boysenberries, and later apples, pears and figs as the season progresses. The friendly team guides visitors to the ripest fruit and shows them how to pick, and provides buckets, with boxes or bags to take fruit home. Entry fees apply, and all fruit is charged per kilogram or per punnet and must be purchased once picked. Bookings are not required for individuals, families or small groups, though groups of 20 or more should book ahead. The farm is open daily, weekdays 9am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to 4pm and Sunday 9am to 3pm, with last entry one hour before closing. A farm store sells handpicked orchard fruit and seasonal vegetables alongside local jams, honey, olives and free range eggs, and the on-site cafe serves coffee, light lunches and home baking. Exact opening and closing dates each year depend on the season and weather, so visitors should call or check the website before travelling.
