About CherryHill Orchards
CherryHill Orchards' original orchard is at 474 Queens Road, Wandin East in the Yarra Valley, about an hour from Melbourne. The Riseborough family planted the first cherry trees here in 1940, and the Wandin East site now covers more than 85 acres of cherry trees, making it one of Victoria's largest pick your own cherry orchards. It has a more rustic, heritage feel than the newer Coldstream orchard, with rolling lawns for a picnic and an on-site cafe.
Picking runs from November to early January each year, sold as a timed, two hour ticketed session; cherries eaten in the orchard are included in the ticket, and any cherries taken home are weighed and charged per kilo on the way out. Weekend and public holiday tickets need to be booked online in advance and often sell out, while midweek gate entry may be available subject to availability. The orchard has free on-site parking, accessible all gender toilets and wide, wheelchair and stroller friendly paths. Dogs are not permitted during cherry picking, aside from assistance animals.
