About Big Fella Cherries
Big Fella Cherries is a u-pick cherry orchard at 38 Boundary Road, Coldstream in the Yarra Valley. Trees are grown under netting to protect the fruit from birds, and visitors pick straight from the branch. The orchard's own Facebook page shows the family preparing each year with pruning, fertilising and netting work ahead of a mid to late November opening, and directory listings give hours of 9.30am to 4pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from mid November through to early January, closed on Christmas Day. Fruit can be picked or bought already picked. On site there are toilets and a shaded picnic area with seating, and soft drink, bottled water and light refreshments are sold. The property, known as The Shed, also hosts rustic weddings outside cherry season. Visitors are encouraged to check the farm's Facebook page for the exact opening date each year before travelling.
