About Ashbern Farms
Ashbern Farms is a commercial organic strawberry grower with a pick your own patch at Stanthorpe, on the Granite Belt. The Stanthorpe site runs its picking and packing season from October through to May, opening the patch to the public on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 3pm, closed on public holidays.
Visitors are supplied with a tray or punnet and pick their own strawberries straight from the rows, paying by the weight of what they pick. No booking is needed and entry is free. Pre-packed strawberries are also available from the on site shop for anyone who would rather not pick. The shop sells strawberry ice cream and other refreshments, and there is a small gift shop with farm merchandise.
The farm has picnic tables and children's swings for families to make a longer visit of it. Ashbern Farms is known locally for growing sweeter, better eating strawberry varieties than the standard commercial lines, and it also runs a second, separate growing operation on the Sunshine Coast that supplies the wholesale and picking work season outside Queensland's cool season window.
