About @Birdwood Pick Your Own Cherries

Birdwood Pick Your Own Cherries is a cherry orchard at 111 Angas Creek Road, Birdwood, in the Adelaide Hills. Picking takes place on flat land under permanent shade netting rather than in a traditional sloped orchard, and visitors can eat cherries straight off the tree as they pick. The property opens each cherry season from December, and no bookings are taken, so walk ins are welcome and the farm can accommodate large groups and buses without advance reservation. Entry is pre paid, with scaled pricing so cherries cost less per kilogram the more a visitor picks. On site there are seating areas, yard games, vintage tractors for children, locally made ice cream and bus parking. It is a family oriented setup, popular over the Christmas holidays. Because ripe fruit and opening days depend on the season and weather, check the farm's website, Facebook or Instagram page before travelling out to Birdwood to confirm the orchard is open and has cherries ready to pick.
