About Ballycroft Vineyard and Cellars
Ballycroft Vineyard and Cellars is a small, 100 per cent family owned winery at 1 Adelaide Road, Greenock, in the Barossa Valley, run by winemaker Joe Evans and his wife Sue. Their regular cellar door is open daily from 11am to 4pm for a personal, guided tasting hosted by Joe himself, with bookings recommended as sessions are kept small and Joe is often out tending the vines. Once a year, separate from the daily cellar door, the vineyard runs Snip and Pick, a tradition going back more than 20 years in which Joseph and Sue invite family and friends along to help hand pick and bring in the grape harvest. The event has been reported as free to join with no experience necessary, though the exact date changes each year depending on when the fruit is ready, so visitors should contact the vineyard directly closer to vintage, typically February to April, to confirm the current year's date before attending. The property includes a tasting room and a purpose built winery that runs on solar power with rainwater collection, set among 15 acres of vines.
